Who we are

Diversity and Disability Alliance (DDAlliance) is a user-led disability support organisation, run by and for people with disability from diverse backgrounds with the support of families and allies. We assist people to live the lives they choose. We are an independent, collective voice committed to diversity and full inclusion.

What we do

  • Maximise the knowledge, skills and capacity of people with disability, their families and allies from diverse backgrounds.
  • Build the capacity of all communities to include people with disability.
  • Share our collective lived experiences.

We believe each person with disability has the right to:

  • genuine voice, choice and control of their lives.
  • genuine and meaningful inclusion in the social, economic, cultural and political life of the communities they choose to belong.
  • have a collective voice which promotes our common experiences and recognises and values the diversity of our communities.
  • live in line with the principles and articles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Mark is a passionate advocate for the inclusion of people with disabilities. An accountant by profession, his life changed after a rugby incident at 35 left him with tetraplegia. Undeterred, Mark joined the DDAlliance Board, actively contributing to community engagement, collaboration, and strategic growth.

His commitment to empowering others extends beyond the boardroom. As an advocate and peer supporter, Mark works tirelessly within the New South Wales disability community and the not-for-profit sector, shaping policies and supporting those with diverse disabilities.

Mark is also an avid supporter of the arts, sports, and cultural events, reflecting his belief in the power of community and shared experiences. His leadership inspires those around him to push for greater inclusivity and opportunity for all.
